The first day at the hospital a young mother came with her young son to thank the team because they had operated on her son the year before and he was doing well.  The mom was all smiles.  I thought of that during our devotionals this morning as Lori Bosch reminded us all this morning that our first goal is love.  Our first responsibility is to love these people and serve them with gifts of medical variety. The people of Belize are hard not to love.  They are so patient and thankful, even though they have to wait long hours in the heat to see the medical team. There country is so beautiful but the economy has taken such a toll on the community. Everywhere you look you see the beauty of nature right along side run down huts and buildings.  But the most beautiful part of Belize is the part we were sent to love and serve.  It’s hard not to share in the love God has for these peoples when you see a face like this,

And this,

And this,

And this,

And this,

And this,

So if you get an opportunity to go on one of the trips to Belize (or another mission’s trip for that matter), I would encourage to to raise, borrow, or save the money and go.  It gets to you in the best way, it softens your heart, and it helps your own faith.
